In the middle of nowhere with no Caravan Insurance!

Those of you with caravans, thinking of caravanning or get drawn into the idea in the future let me serve as a warning to you all! Ok let’s firstly clear up what I am talking about – not having touring caravan insurance! I mean caravanning itself is heaven to me; it allows me to really unwind and to take a holiday that is strictly at my pace. I genuinely enjoy the peace and quiet of a deserted field or car park on a rainy day – it’s the freedom you see – come and go as you please – the great outdoors!

Anyway I digress somewhat, the point of my post here is that I had a bad experience – due to my own inexperience, and found myself in a field in Wales (a decent albeit deserted camp site) on a wet and windy afternoon – in fact so windy that it overturned my caravan with all my possessions inside! ‘You must’ve had insurance?’ I hear you cry, well yes but a basic version of what I should’ve had and it didn’t cover my possessions inside plus I couldn’t get anyone out to help me put the caravan the right way up as I was not covered for assistance either. I have since found a great insurance company called The Caravan Club who offer a great touring caravan insurance policy at a really good rate – check them out and get insured!

Whole Live Insurance: Gag

Is the insurance salesman trying to sell you whole life insurance again? Gross. Your accountant tells you to buy term insurance and invest the difference because it is a better bet. Your life insurance guy tells you that he can set you up with a variable fixed universal product that is out-of-this-world and will solve world hunger someday.

Shouldn’t it be easier to get a cheap, fast term insurance quote?

Yes.

And to make it even better than that — term life insurance is often sold right over the phone by some of the top insurance companies that you have heard of and trust. Term life insurance is simply too easy to screw up — and it doesn’t pay very high of a commission to the life insurance salesmen so they don’t like to sell it very often.

But for the consumer who is doing all they can to make ends meet and scraping by each month… many times the term life insurance product is the life insurance product that just plain makes the most sense. It costs the least, you can quit paying if you don’t like the product and should something change, you can usually upgrade your term policy into a whole life one no matter what — a term sometimes referred to as “guaranteed insurability”.

Don’t fall for the whole life insurance gag. Unless you have to.

Have You Heard The News? Of Course Not

Unless you are some kind of crazy person or work in the insurance industry, you probably don’t follow insurance news very much. But by not following the news, you might have missed out on something that can end up saving you money each month on your insurance premiums. What is the news?

Many insurance companies have lowered their premiums for new customers.

While you won’t catch your insurance company calling you up to say “hey, pay us less money”, what you will find is that by shopping around a little bit, you will probably be surprised at how much money you can save by switching insurance companies.

Insurance companies have to compete with one another and when times get tough, people and companies have to get competitive. This means that you can take advantage of it with not much effort. Getting multiple insurance companies to give you a quote is easier than ever and should be free to you as the consumer. If you have heard the “when banks compete you win” motto, it is also true with insurance companies.

So don’t delay in getting your free insurance quotes – be sure to get quotes from all of the big companies for each one of your policies and you may find that all of the sudden it feels like you got a raise at work!
